PERET nasce dal bisogno di raccogliere, in un unico spazio virtuale condiviso, le tematiche delle ricerche e dei progetti attualmente portati avanti da dottorandi e post-doc italiani in Egittologia e Nubiologia. Lo scopo ultimo è quindi quello di promuovere lo sviluppo di una rete di contatti e facilitare la condivisione di informazioni e spunti tra studiosi.
L’idea di creare questo sito è nata durante il primo incontro a livello nazionale dei giovani egittologi e nubiologi italiani, che si è tenuto tra il 14 e il 15 dicembre 2017 presso l’Università di Pisa, ente promotore dell’evento.
Così come nell’antico Egitto la stagione PERET segnava l’emergere delle terre al ritirarsi delle acque del Nilo e, quindi, il periodo della germinazione, allo stesso modo questo portale vuole offrire l’opportunità di far ‘sbocciare’ nuovi contatti, aprire stimolanti confronti e generare scambi di idee e opinioni.

The aim of PERET is to gather in a shared virtual space the topics of the ongoing research projects of the Italian PhD students and Post-doc researchers in ancient Egypt and Nubia, promoting the construction of a network and supporting idea correspondence.
The concept of this website was generated during the first national meeting of Italian PhD students and Post-doc researchers in Egyptology e Nubiology, held on 14th and 15th December 2017 at the University of Pisa, which was the sponsor of the event.
In ancient Egypt, the season called PERET featured the emergence of the land after the flood, and hence the start of the crop growth. In the same way, this idea has the aim of fostering new networks and encouraging exchanges of ideas and opinions.
